Our Story

This first year of Summit Classical Academy has taught me to expect the unexpected. Who knew that when God inspired the Modglins and the Millers to start a brand new school, an event that would rock the world would come with it? Many thought that starting a school would be foolish in the midst of a pandemic. In reality, it proved to be the perfect time to launch our classical Christian school. It is precisely what our community needed. Students needed a robust and vibrant education and we all needed to be in person to build relationships as families. Learning and growing happens best in a strong, loving, Christ-centered community. It is the way God designed it and it is the way our school was established.
The kickstart to Summit Classical Academy began with five pioneering families willing to take a chance on doing something new and different. The Warrior Homeschool Co-op was born in January of 2020 with the plan to start a five day a week school in August of 2020. Even if it were just these seven students, school would begin. The Board was determined! However, more courageous families joined the journey. While Summit Classical Academy was a new endeavor, classical Christian education is not. It is a tried and true way of educating students well. God provided a beautiful location at Risen Savior Lutheran Church. We could not have asked for a better relationship or support. God then pieced together a stellar staff, and God brought more amazing families to join the community. What developed was nothing short of spectacular and surpassed all of my hopes for this brand new, small but powerful, school that is a training ground created intentionally for forging fierce warriors of God. Our Good Father has blessed us beyond anything we could have asked for or imagined.
As we look forward, let’s remember to expect God’s best for us, He always has a plan, He cares for His children, He is our Warrior! Who knows what the future is going to bring? God’s ways are so much higher than ours. Let us all move forward in hope and expect the unexpected!
